12. Stay Married
In addition to being your only moral choice as a spouse, this has huge benefits for your children that are too numerous to list here. (Many studies have confirmed this over the last few decades.)
I understand that there are situations of physical abuse or abandonment. Do the best you can in the worst circumstances.

I’m curious, what are some examples or benefits for the children?
The benefits of being married for your children are almost countless: Two of them can be summarized by saying that you have a LOT more time, money and energy to spend on your kids if two of you are raising them together. For instance, I worked and was the breadwinner while my wife stayed home to homeschool our kids and keep them out of trouble. That alone allowed the children to avoid many problems that many of our friends’ kids stumbled into.
I’m going to guess that you are not married and are not a parent. That’s OK, but many of the things discussed here won’t mean much to you until you actually have kids. You will be surprised how differently you think about things once that happens!
